Slovak Academy of Sciences is the top national scientific institution, which carries out research in 45 institutions in the field of natural, technical, medical, agricultural, and social sciences, as well as in the humanities.
In this way, it focuses on the transfer of knowledge, on demand-oriented applied research, and on civil service in selected fields. Excellence in research is the foundation value of SAS. It respects the diversity and individuality of persons in science. SAS holds HRS4R Award.

Slovak Academy of Sciences is member of the national network of EURAXESS Slovakia centers.

EURAXESS Services is a network of more than five hundred Service Centres located in 40 European countries.
These Centres help researchers and their family to plan and organise their move to a foreign country. This free personalised assistance helps researchers tackle issues such as accommodation, visa and work permits,language lessons, schools for their children, social security and medical care.

HR Excellence in research

On the 13th of July 2020, Slovak Academy of Sciences was granted the ‘HR Excellence in research’ award.
The main idea is to follow the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter&Code) and to implement the strategy and action plan in order to improve processes and practices of human resources policies. SAS is obliged to achieve more transparent and fair recruitment and evaluation procedure and make academic and research career more attractive.

Comenius University in Bratislava

The oldest and largest university in Slovakia, 13 faculties with currently more than 22.000 students.
Comenius University in Bratislava offers wide spectrum of study programmes - ranging from art and humanities (including theology), through law, economics and social sciences, natural sciences, mathematics, information sciences to medicine. Comenius University in Bratislava participates in top-level research in a number of scientific disciplines. There is modern research infrastructure available, different laboratories and research centres. Currently, the Science Park is the largest infrastructure, which includes a technology transfer office and a business incubator. The science park focuses on research in the field of commercial applications in the field of biotechnology, environmental medicine and social challenges.

Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava

A modern educational and scientific institution providing education mainly in chemical technologies, computer and technical sciences, construction, architecture, food and material technologies. In average 12.000 students study at STU every year at all three levels of study, it has 7 faculties based in Bratislava and Trnava.
Its international cooperation is based on interactive contact with educational as well as scientific-research institutions of countries all over the world. First of all, it is focused on solution of the joint projects within the EU framework and other international programmes, mobility of students, teaching staff and researchers.
